Chicago Campaign Event 1000 Feet Up
Camels Gather at 360 ChicagoRead More
High above Minneapolis at the Millennium Hotel’s iconic Dome on the evening of November 16, an intimate gathering of alumni and current and former parents reconnected with one another and with the College. Alumni spanning eight decades, from the Class of 1950 to the Class of 2020, shared memories of their alma mater, including Mona Affinito ’51, a former college professor, administrator, private therapist and currently, a writer, who credits Conn with empowering her to pursue careers not typically encouraged for women. “Connecticut College made us think deeply and was interdisciplinary long before it was fashionable.” Attendees learned about exciting plans for the future as President Katherine Bergeron and staff members took to the road to continue the exciting series of Defy Boundaries Campaign regional events.
And the news is exciting: Alumni and friends have contributed more than $240 million to the Defy Boundaries Campaign, the most ambitious in Conn’s history, and the College is well-positioned to reach its $300 million goal. Even as contributions are coming in, the campaign is transforming the College by providing major investments in financial aid for outstanding students of every background, student-faculty research collaborations, the arts, global study, athletics and much more.
As President Bergeron said of the event, “There is something wonderful about taking the Camel spirit across the country. We see what is so special about Connecticut College reflected in our alumni.”
The photographs below capture an evening of fun, friendship and Camel pride.
